The dbjobs system is a free service to the database community by ACM SIGMOD. The idea of creating a database-oriented career opportunities web site came from the (now defunct) DB Junior steering group.

The design and the implementation of the dbjobs system was done by Alexandros Labrinidis while he was a PhD student at the University of Maryland, College Park.

The following people helped improve/debug the system with their feedback: Ashraf Aboulnaga, Thomas Baby, Daniel Barbara, Jose Blakeley, Henk Ernst Blok, Ugur Cetintemel, Leana Golubchik, Mark Graves, Donald Kossmann, Nelson Mattos, Alberto Mendelzon, Marie-Anne Neimat, Arnon Rosenthal, Yannis Sismanis, Richard Snodgrass, Anya Sotiropoulou, Srinath Srinivasa.

The dbjobs system is currently being hosted at the University of Pittsburgh.
