Basic Information about dbjobs

SIGMOD Home | FAQ | Job Posting Guide

The dbjobs system is a searchable database of database jobs. It is intended to be used by job seekers that have a background in databases. Job postings are moderated, so they are guaranteed to be database-related. Before posting a job advertisement, please read the Job Posting Guide.

To be able to post a job advertisement or search the jobs database you will need to register first (except if you are already a user of the dbgrads system, in which case you do not have to register again).

The dbjobs system is a free service to the database community by ACM SIGMOD. The idea of creating a database-oriented career opportunities web site came from the (now defunct) DB Junior steering group. The design and the implementation of the dbjobs system was done by Alexandros Labrinidis while he was a PhD student at the University of Maryland, College Park. He is currently an Assistant Professor at The University of Pittsburgh. This system is currently maintained by Rachel Pottinger, and hosted by the University of Pittsburgh. A lot of people have also helped improve the system with their feedback.

For more information on the dbjobs system, you can read the article describing dbjobs in the September 2001 Issue of SIGMOD Record.
